The Precious Book on Noteworthy Dates – كتاب المواقيت في معرفة اليواقيت
“هذا العمل القصير [١٦ صفحة] الذي يُعرف بكتاب اليواقيت في معرفة المواقيت نَسَخهُ خطاط مجهول في يونيو-يوليو 1775 (شوال 1168 هجرية)، وينسب لحسين (أو حسن) بن زيد بن علي الجحاف، الذي قيل إنه كرسه لأبي علي منصور الحاكم بأمر الله.”
“This short work [16 pages], entitled Kitāb al-yawāqīt fī ma‘rifat al-mawāqīt, and copied by an anonymous scribe in Shawwāl in June-July 1775 (AH 1168), is attributed to Ḥusayn b. Zayd b. ‘Alī al-Jaḥḥāf, who is said to have dedicated it to Abū ‘Alī Manṣūr al-Ḥākim bi Amr-Allāh.”
الكتاب يتضمن تقويم عن الأشهر و نصوص عن تفسير الأحلام و معنى الأحرف العربية فيها. إنني أدرسه حاليا و قد أحوال نسخه إلى عربية أكثر مقروءة إذا تسنى لي الوقت.
The book includes astronomical readings based on each month [with some overlap] and interpretation of dreams and the meaning of Arabic letters in them. I am currently studying it and will try and write it in more readable Arabic if I have the time.
